For those of you who are unfamiliar with this wonderful, early childhood education establishment--Buckman Arts Focus Elementary School is part of the Portland Public Schools district. In addition to providing students with grade appropriate academia, the schools' art specialists, teachers, support staff and volunteers use a multiple-intelligence approach to education (as developed by Howard Gardner). They work with students' linguistic, logical-mathematical, musical, body-kinetic, spatial, interpersonal, and intrapersonal intelligences.

The 2009 Buckman Auction is an event not to be missed. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door.
